This 1975 Ford F-250 Ranger XLT is a standard-cab pickup finished in white and powered by a replacement 429ci Thunder Jet big-block V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case. The truck was delivered new to Jim Wilson Ford in Yreka, CA, and was acquired by the seller in January 2021. Refurbishment work completed under current ownership has included fitment of replacement floors and interior upholstery along with the addition of cab sound insulation, a dual-exit Magnaflow exhaust, and a Pioneer AM/FM/cassette stereo. Additional features consist of a 4″ suspension lift, 16″ alloy wheels, power steering, color-matched spray bed liner, and a hitch receiver.
The truck is finished in white and exterior features include a chrome front bumper, chrome grille, rear step bumper, a receiver hitch, side moldings, door-mounted side mirrors, side steps. A replacement dual-exit exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers has been installed, and color-matched spray-in bed liner was applied. The seller notes the trailer accessory plug does not function and the auxiliary fuel tanks have been removed.
Polished 16×10″ alloy wheels wear 315/75 Mastercraft Courser mud-terrain tires. The truck features power steering, and service under current ownership is said to have included replacement of the upper and lower ball joints and repacking the wheel bearings.
The cab features bench seating reupholstered in black vinyl and cloth with a black dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Additional interior features include woodtone-applique trim, a body-colored lower dash, a replacement leather dash pad, a replacement headliner, rubber floor mats, and an aftermarket Pioneer AM/FM/cassette stereo. The passenger-side floorboard was replaced, and the drivers-side floorboard was patched. Interior sound insulation has been installed, and images of the process are shown in the gallery. The seller states that replacement cab bushings have been installed along with a replacement heater core and blower motor.
The replacement steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges monitoring oil pressure, battery charge, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The seller notes that LED dash lights have been installed, the right turn signal does not self-cancel, and the oil pressure gauge works intermittently. The five-digit odometer shows 34k miles.
The Ford 429 Thunder Jet V8 was installed during prior ownership. Work completed under current ownership has reportedly consisted of resurfacing the exhaust manifolds and replacing the valve covers, valve cover gaskets, coolant hoses, voltage regulator, battery, and battery cables. A tune-up was performed, and the oil and filter were changed in preparation for sale.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. According to the seller, the transmission fluid and filter have been changed, and a replacement neutral safety switch has been installed. The transfer case fluid and rear axle fluid have also been replaced.
