Service under the seller’s ownership totaling over $7k consisted of overhauling the braking and ignition systems along with replacing the rear exhaust, seat belts, wood dashboard trim, thermostat, and cooling system components.
The car is finished in the factory Java Green (85) and features a black soft top, a matching top boot, a chrome bullet-style door mirror, bumper overriders, and correct Union Jack flags on the rear quarter panels. According to the seller, an area at the base of the A-pillar on the passenger side was refinished after an item fell from a garage shelf under previous ownership, and an area below the driver’s side rear bumper that was lightly creased.
Steel 15″ wheels wear aluminum trim rings and TR6 center caps and are wrapped in 215/60 Toyo Extensa tires. The braking system was overhauled under current ownership with rebuilt calipers along with a new master cylinder, rotors, pads, shoes, and lines.
The bucket seats are upholstered in black vinyl with perforated inserts and are accompanied by matching door panels, carpets, and a rear package shelf. The seats have been fitted with new diaphragms and the carpet has sound deadening heat mat installed underneath. Equipment includes a recently-fitted wood-veneer dashboard trim with a locking glovebox, a heater, Triumph-branded floor mats, and a British Leyland AM radio. New three-point retractable seat belts have been installed, and the factory units are included in the sale.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation with LED backlighting consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and additional gauges displaying fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and battery voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 54k miles.
The 2.5-liter inline-six was factory rated at 101 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque. The twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors were recently rebuilt and synced, and additional work under current ownership has consisted of included replacing the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, correcting vacuum advance as well as adding a Pertronix electronic ignition and adjusting the valves. The cooling system was also flushed, while adding new thermostat, waterpump, sending unit, and all new heater and coolant hoses. A new fan shroud is included in the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that the exhaust muffler and tailpipes have been replaced.
