This Lancia 037 tribute is a partially-completed project that began life as a 1977 Lancia Scorpion and was acquired by the current owner in 2017. It has since been modified with Carteroni bodywork mounted over a chromoly tube frame, along with a Honda K24 inline-four fitted with a Borg Warner turbocharger, a Mishimoto intercooler, and Dailey Engineering dry sump oil system. Shifting is through a Fortin Racing five-speed sequential manual gearbox, and additional equipment includes Wilwood brakes, Braid three-piece wheels, adjustable Penske Racing shocks with Eibach springs, front-mounted rally lights, OMP HTE-R racing seats, and an OMP steering wheel.
The unpainted bodywork and mounting hardware was sourced from Carteroni of New Zealand and mounted on a custom chassis made from 4130 chromoly tubing. Exterior features include front-mounted rally lights, tilt front and rear body sections, hood vents, and a rear spoiler.
Three-piece Braid wheels are mounted with Pirelli Corsa tires, and the brake system features a Wilwood master cylinder, vented rotors, and four-piston calipers. Suspension components consist of adjustable Penske Racing shocks with Eibach springs and computer designed A-arms. Additional equipment includes a billet aluminum steering rack and a DCE Motorsports programmable electric power steering motor.
Two black fabric OMP HTE-R racing seats are housed in the cockpit. A Terratrip rally computer is also installed along with air vents, Wilwood pedals, a Wilwood hand brake, and a billet Fortin sequential shifter. A fire suppression system is included in the sale along with a Rugged Radios intercom system and a GPS.
An Alcantara-wrapped OMP steering wheel mounted on a collapsible splined steering assembly with a quick disconnect hub fronts a 12” digital MoTeC C1212 Dash color display that provides configurable readouts for the driver.
The Honda K24 inline-four was built by 4 Piston Racing in Danville, Indiana and features the following components:
Borg Warner turbocharger
Rear-mounted Mishimoto 3″ intercooler and aluminum ducting
Skunk2 intake manifold
Skunk2 fuel rail
Skunk2 Pro 90mm throttle body
Dailey Engineering dry sump system
87.5mm Wiseco pistons
ACL Race bearings
Cometic and ARP head studs
Ferrea springs and valves
Billet camshaft
Full-Race header with dual wastegates
Front C&R Racing large core twin brushless fan radiator
Additional assembly and mechanical work is necessary in order to bring the project to completion, including fuel cells, a dry sump tank, rear axles, a wiring harness, and more. A transmission cooler is included in the sale along with a transmission drive mechanical pump for the oil cooler.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Fortin Racing sequential manual gearbox.
