This 1979 Jeep CJ-7 was acquired by the seller in 2020 and has since been refurbished and modified. Work included retrofitting a Wrangler YJ tub to the CJ frame, along with a repaint in brown, replacement graphics, refreshment of the brakes, and the installation of a Chevrolet 350ci V8 and a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes a dual-range transfer case, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley carburetor, a Flowmaster exhaust, a 2.5” suspension lift and 1″ body lift, 15” Pro Comp wheels with 33″ tires, Smittybilt seats, a swing-out rear spare carrier, and a tan bikini top.
A YJ tub was reportedly fitted to the CJ frame during the refurbishment, sheet metal repairs were performed, and the body was repainted brown and fitted with replacement graphics sourced from Phoenix Graphix. The exterior seals, mirrors, windshield, and wipers are said to have been replaced at that time, and additional features include a tan canvas bikini top attached to the roll bar, a swing-away spare tire carrier, black wheel arch extensions, aftermarket black-finished bumpers, and twin exhaust outlets.
Polished 15” Pro Comp wheels are mounted with 33”x12.50” Falken Wildpeak M/T tires, and manually-locking hubs are fitted up front. A 1″ body lift has been added, along with a 2.5” Rough Country suspension lift and a front sway bar with custom end links. The brake system was refreshed and replacement lines are said to have been installed during the refurbishment.
The cabin houses bolstered Smittybilt front seats with a rear bench trimmed in tan vinyl along with a matching dash pad and beige carpeting. Additional features include rubber floor mats, a locking center console, a glove compartment, and a Lokar shifter.
A wood-rimmed Grant GT steering wheel fronts instrumentation consisting of a 6k-rpm tachometer, a 90-mph speedometer with inset gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level, and auxiliary gauges for voltage and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 42k miles.
The 350ci Chevrolet V8 was installed by the seller and is fitted with an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley carburetor, stainless steel headers, a Flowmaster exhaust, HEI ignition, Advance Adapters engine mounts, and an aluminum radiator. Belts and hoses are said to have been replaced during the refurbishment, and a Lokar throttle cable and kickdown cable have also been installed.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission linked to a Dana 300 transfer case with a Novak adapter.
