This 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is finished in black over beige and is powered by a 400ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include the WS6 Performance and Handling Package, four-wheel power disc brakes, a rear spoiler, a shaker hood, Trans Am decals and striping, 15″ snowflake wheels, and an Alpine AM/FM/Cassette Stereo. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2016, and maintenance completed in preparation for sale consisted of a fluid service.
The car is finished in black and features a “screaming chicken” hood decal and gold striping. Additional features include front fender vents, quad headlamps, chrome drip rails, a shaker hood, front and rear spoilers, and quad angled exhaust tips. The seller notes that an area of the left rear quarter panel has been repainted.
Cast-aluminum 15″ snowflake wheels wear Firebird-logo center caps and are mounted with older Goodyear Eagle GT II radial tires. The car is equipped with the WS6 Performance Package, which included power four-wheel disc brakes, a quick-ratio steering box, and a larger sway bar. The front suspension and brakes are said to have been serviced in 2021.
The cabin features beige vinyl bucket seats joined by a matching dash, door panels, carpet, and floor mats. Interior equipment includes an Alpine AM/FM/Cassette stereo and the pedal trim package. The air conditioning compressor has been removed but will be included in the sale along with the bracket.
The three-spoke formula steering wheel sits ahead of an engine-turned instrument panel housing a 100-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 80k miles.
The 400ci V8 was factory rated at 220 horsepower. The factory intake tube has been removed from the air cleaner assembly and a fluid service is said to have been completed in March 2021. The radiator, water pump, heater core, battery, oil pan gasket, fuel tank, starter, and alternator are said to have been replaced in 2021.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The transmission pan gasket and clutch are said to have been replaced.
