This 1981 Toyota Land Cruiser is a left-hand-drive troop carrier that was imported to the US from Costa Rica in 2015 under previous ownership. The truck was acquired by the seller later that year, reportedly following a repaint in beige and reupholstery of the interior in black and brown vinyl. Power is from a diesel inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Additional equipment includes a roof rack, chrome 15″ steel wheels, an electric cooling fan, and an aftermarket air conditioning system. The brakes, radiator, and shock absorbers are said to have been replaced over the last four years.
The truck is said to have been repainted prior to the seller’s acquisition and features a white roof and grille surround, a roof rack with an integrated ladder, swing-out rear doors, sliding cargo-area windows, and Toyota-branded mud flaps.
Aftermarket 15″ chrome wheels wear Horizon Tirocke-A/T tires at all four corners. Braking components and all four shocks are said to have been replaced under current ownership.
The interior features a split front bench seat trimmed in black and brown vinyl as well as black door panels, an aftermarket stereo, and an under-dash HVAC system. Two inward-facing bench seats are positioned in the rear cargo area.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-km/h speedometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 600 kilometers (~400 miles), with the actual total unknown.
