This 1984 Porsche Carrera is a Turbo-look coupe that was delivered new by Brumos Porsche of Smyrna, Georgia, and is said to have been acquired by the current owner’s late husband in the early 1990s. The car is finished in metallic gray over gray leather upholstery and is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes fog lamps, a sunroof, 16″ Fuchs wheels, and a tea-tray rear spoiler. Service in the past year consisted of replacing the alternator, battery and sun visors along with fluid changes.
The M491 “Turbo Look” option added the 911 Turbo’s front and rear spoilers and fender flares. This example was factory finished in Gemini Gray Metallic and was repainted reportedly after sustaining damage to the front and rear of the vehicle, and the seller states that it appears that the rear engine lid has been replaced using one from a like donor car. Additional equipment includes fog lamps and a recently-repaired sunroof.
Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels with bright rims and body-color centers wear 205/55 front and 245/50 rear BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp-2 tires. The M491 option included the braking system from the contemporary 911 Turbo. A brake-fluid flush was performed in preparation for sale.
The interior features gray leather upholstery with lighter carpeting throughout and black trim on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. The driver’s seat shows wear and has a split, the dash cap is warped, and the air conditioning, Blaupunkt cassette stereo, and cruise control are all inoperable.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation that includes a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 144k miles.
The 3.2-liter flat-six was factory rated at 200 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. Recent service included an engine oil and filter change as well as replacement of the gas support shocks for the front and rear deck lids. The alternator and battery were replaced in 2020. The seller notes an oil smell after the engine has been running.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential.
