The 2.5-liter M20 inline-six features Bosch Motronic engine management and produced 168 horsepower and 164 lb-ft of torque when new. An overhaul was performed in January 2019 by HiTech Automotive of Los Angeles, California, which involved replacement of the rod bearings, piston rings, timing and drive belts, head gasket, engine mounts, and power steering pump.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. The fuel pumps, tank, and pressure regulator were replaced in 2019 along with the muffler.
