The car was originally ordered through Bud’s Chevrolet in Saint Mary’s, Ohio, and was relocated to Florida prior to the seller’s acquisition in 2016.
The car is finished in Yellow (51U) and features a front air dam and rocker panel extensions, body-color side moldings, removable glass T-top panels, and a power antenna. IROC-Z graphics adorn each lower door, while the rocker panels bear Z28 badges.
Factory 16″ aluminum wheels with IROC-Z center caps are mounted with Goodyear Eagle VR50 tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front and rear discs, and the car is equipped with the Special Sport Suspension package.
The cabin features factory bucket seats trimmed in black cloth with light gray piping and “Camaro” embroidery along with matching carpets and trim. Group 3 interior options include an overhead console, a Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo with a graphic equalizer, and power windows, locks, mirrors, and hatch release. The car is also equipped with a rear window defogger.
A factory leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 145-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, and coolant temperature, fuel level, voltage, and oil pressure gauges. The five-digit odometer shows just under 2k miles, 80 of which were added by the seller. The Carfax report notes a potential odometer rollover in 2003.
The tuned-port fuel-injected L98 5.7-liter V8 was rated at 225 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque when new, and is equipped with an engine oil cooler that was only offered on the IROC-Z. The seller states that an oil change was performed six months ago.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a limited-slip differential.
