This 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300SDL is finished in black over a black leather interior, and is powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include gray lower cladding, chrome wheels, bright trim and window surrounds, fog lights, headlight wipers, a power sunroof, an automatic antenna, power-adjustable front seats, wood trim, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an aftermarket Sony stereo. The car was sold new by Dreher-Holloway Mercedes-Benz in Exeter, New Hampshire, and spent time in Florida before it was acquired in California by the seller in November 2021. Service in preparation for the sale included an oil change and the replacement of the air and fuel filters.
The SDL was 5.5″ longer than the standard W126, and this example is finished in Black (040) with contrasting lower cladding. Brightwork includes side moldings, bumper trim, and window surrounds, while additional equipment includes headlight wipers, fog lights, heated sideview mirrors, a power antenna, and a power sunroof.
Chrome-finished 16″ wheels are mounted with 225/55 Westlake SA-07 tires showing 2021 date codes. Braking is handled by anti-lock discs at all four corners.
The cabin features power-adjustable front seats with position memory trimmed in black leather along with a matching rear bench, door panels, and carpeting. Wood trim accents the dash, doors, and center console, and amenities include dual front airbags, automatic climate control, central locking, cruise control, and an aftermarket Sony stereo.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset analog clock, an external temperature readout, and a combination gauge that monitors coolant temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 34k miles.
The 3.0-liter turbodiesel OM603 inline-six was factory rated at 148 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. An oil change and the replacement of the air and fuel filters were performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.
