This 1988 BMW M5 is one of 1,340 examples produced for the North American market and was acquired nine years ago by the seller out of Vermont. The car is finished in Black over Natur leather, and power is provided by a 3.5-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in Schwarz (086) and features front and rear spoilers, a retractable sunroof, foglights, and a power antenna. Touch-up paintwork has been applied to areas around the body and the exterior trim has been replaced per the seller.
Staggered-width 16″ BBS multi-piece wheels with gold centers are wrapped in 225/50 Dunlop Direzza DZ101 tires up front and 245/45 Yokohama ES100 tires in back. The car is equipped with Bilstein HD shock absorbers, Frozen front brake rotors, and stainless steel braided brake hoses. A set of black-finished basketweave alloy wheels is included with the car.
The seating surfaces were reupholstered in Natur leather around 2008 and are complemented by a matching lower dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include power-adjustable and heated front sport seats, air conditioning, an Alpine CD stereo with a trunk-mounted subwoofer, an onboard computer, and power windows. A UUC short-throw shifter and a chrome-trimmed shift knob have been installed and the seller notes the removed parts accompany the vehicle.
A leather-wrapped M-Tech I steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer. The six-digit mechanical odometer indicates 106k miles.
The 3.5-liter S38B35 inline-six has been modified with a Dinan ECU chip and exhaust camshaft gear, along with a Billy Boat exhaust system and a K&N air intake with a conical filter. An oil change and inspection were performed four months ago.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller states the clutch master cylinder was replaced during current ownership.
