This 1988 Ford Mustang GT convertible was ordered new by the seller from DeStefano Ford Sales of Barrington, Rhode Island in November 1987, delivered in March 1988, and driven until 1991, when it was put into storage for 21 years. Finished in white with a white convertible top over white leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 302ci V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, fog lights, air conditioning, sport seats, cruise control, 15″ alloy wheels, power window, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and a luggage rack.
The car is finished in Oxford White (9L) with a white convertible soft top and red accent striping on the side moldings and bumpers. Features include a Mustang GT–specific front bumper with integrated fog lights in addition to “5.0” fender badging, side skirts, a rear apron, louvered taillights, and a luggage rack on the trunk lid.
Cast-aluminum 15″ wheels are mounted with 225/60 Goodyear Eagle VR60 tires. The Mustang GT came standard with variable-rate front and rear coil springs and Quadra Shock rear dampers. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in white leather with a contrasting Scarlet lower dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include air conditioning, articulated front sport seats with power-adjustable lumbar support, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, a premium sound system, cruise control, power windows, and power door locks.
The multi-function steering wheel frames a replacement 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows just under 1,300 miles, and the factory 85-mph speedometer was removed with 90 miles showing. The removed speedometer is included in the sale.
The 302ci High Output V8 features electronic fuel injection and was rated at 225 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque when new. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential.
The window sticker shows initial delivery to DeStefano Ford and lists factory equipment, selected options, and a total price of $18,932.
