This 1988 Jeep Wrangler is one of a limited number of Olympic Edition models offered in 1988 to celebrate the Winter Olympic Games in Calgary, Canada, and the Summer Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea. The Jeep is finished in Colorado Red over tan cloth and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Features include commemorative gold striping and decals, 15″ aluminum wheels, a tan soft top, a Jeep AM/FM radio, and black running boards with side steps. The truck was first registered in Kansas and spent time in Colorado and California before it was purchased by the seller in 2018 and relocated to Missouri. Recent service is said to have included a carburetor rebuild and fluid changes.
The body is finished in Colorado Red and features gold striping and USA Olympic Team decals. Additional equipment consists of a driver’s side mirror, black bumpers and wheel arch flares, half doors, black running boards with side steps, and a replacement tan soft top that was installed under current ownership.
Five-spoke 15″ aluminum wheels are fitted with 235/75 Goodyear Wrangler Radial tires. Braking is provided by discs up front and drums in the rear.
The cabin features seats upholstered in tan cloth joined by a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes clear plastic zippered side and rear windows, a locking center console, a roll bar, and a Jeep AM/FM radio.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 100-mph speedometer and a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges extend to the center of the dashboard. The six-digit odometer shows 39k miles.
The 4.2-liter AMC inline-six was factory rated for 112 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. The seller states that recent maintenance included a carburetor rebuild in April 2021 along with fluid services and an oil change.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.
