This 1988 Jeep Wrangler Sport was acquired by the seller in 2002 and subsequently refurbished and modified, including stretching the frame and bodywork as well as installing a fuel-injected 350ci Chevrolet V8. The truck is finished in black and equipped with a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case fitted with a Slip Yoke eliminator kit. Additional modifications include a larger-capacity radiator, 4” BDS lift springs, Bilstein shocks, 17” Method wheels, KC off-road lights, a removable aluminum bikini hardtop, a B&M shifter, an aftermarket stereo, and a Grant GT steering wheel. Work in the past six months is said to have consisted of a transmission service as well as replacement of the power steering pump, catalytic converter, and brake master cylinder.
The body and frame were lengthened by 12″ prior to a repaint in black during current ownership. Exterior details include black bumpers and unpainted fenders, #72 decals, KC off-road lights, a removable aluminum bikini hardtop, and a rear receiver hitch. The seller notes dents in both front fenders. A Bimini fabric top is said to be included in the sale.
Gold-colored 17” Method 315 wheels are mounted with 35”x10.5” Kenda Klever R/T tires. Suspension components consist of BDS 4” lift springs, a front reverse shackle kit, and Bilstein 5100 shocks at all four corners. The brake master cylinder and power steering pump are reported to have been replaced earlier this year.
The interior features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in grey Bestop fabric, and Rhino liner has been applied to the floors. A tubular roll cage has been fitted and additional amenities include a B&M shifter, and an aftermarket JVC stereo linked with Kicker speakers and an amplifier mounted beneath the rear bench. The air conditioning is not currently hooked up.
A Grant GT steering wheel fronts instrumentation consisting of a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 100-mph speedometer, and centrally-mounted auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 13k miles.
The fuel-injected 5.7-liter Chevrolet V8 is said to have been rebuilt before being installed during current ownership and is believed to have 13k miles on it. A larger-capacity Advance Adapters radiator and aluminum shroud have been added, and the seller notes that the catalytic converter was replaced in 2021.
The three-speed automatic transmission is said to have been rebuilt and fitted with an Advance Adapters bellhousing, and power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a dual-range transfer case equipped with an Advance Adapters Slip Yoke eliminator kit and custom front and rear driveshafts. A transmission service was performed in the past six months.
