This 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa is finished in Cassis Red Metallic over a reupholstered burgundy leather interior and is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a Getrag G50 five-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a removable roof panel, a front strut tower brace, a shorter shift lever, cruise control, power-adjustable front seats, Bilstein shocks, and forged 16” Fuchs wheels. The car was acquired by the seller in California in the mid-1990s and now shows 232k miles. Work performed in preparation for the sale included an oil change as well as replacement of the distributor cap, ignition rotor, and spark plugs.
The car is finished in Cassis Red Metallic (80D) and features a black targa bar and removable roof panel, integrated front fog lights, and body-colored side mirrors. The seller states that the targa bar has been repainted and the targa top headliner has been recovered.
Forged 16” Fuchs wheels wear Dunlop Direzza tires measuring 205/55 up front and 225/50 out back. An aftermarket front strut tower brace has been installed in the front trunk, and the car is equipped with Bilstein shocks.
The cabin is upholstered in burgundy partial leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Features include a shorter shift lever, cruise control, and power windows. The steering wheel, shift boot, and power-adjustable front seats were reupholstered in 2015, and the seller reports that the air conditioning system and Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette stereo do not work.
VDO instrumentation consists of a central tachometer with a 6,250-rpm redline, a 160-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 232k miles.
The 3.2-liter flat-six features Bosch fuel injection and was rated at 217 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque when new. An engine-out reseal service and a valve job were performed in September 2003, and the fuel pump and oil return tubes were replaced in February 2020. Maintenance performed in preparation for the sale included an oil change as well as replacement of the distributor cap, ignition rotor, and spark plugs.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag G50 five-speed manual transaxle. The gearbox was removed and the clutch was replaced in March 2019.
