This 1989 Ford Mustang is #094 of 1,806 that were modified into convertibles by American Sunroof Company and McLaren Performance Technologies between 1987 and 1990, and it is finished in Keweenau White over two-tone leather. Power is provided by a 5.0-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, and equipment includes a black soft top, front fog lights, revised body styling, 15″ wheels, air conditioning, cruise control, and power windows and locks. The car spent time in Illinois and Florida before it was relocated to New Mexico in 2007, and acquired by the seller in July 2021.
First delivered as an LX coupe finished in black (1C), this example was sent to ASC for conversion into a two-seat convertible with a black soft top. The exterior painted Keweenau White, and additional ASC-installed equipment includes tinted tail lights, a rear spoiler, and revised lower body styling, along with an ASC McLaren-branded grille insert.
Alloy 15″ ASC-McLaren-branded wheels are mounted with 225/60 Michelin Pilot XGT V4 tires, with a temporary spare and jack located under the trunk floor.
The interior features sport seats upholstered in two-tone gray leather with embroidered ASC McLaren logos and extendable thigh bolsters. The rear seats were removed to allow for the installation of the folding roof and a hard tonneau cover, and additional amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, power locks, power windows, and an AM/FM cassette stereo linked to Kenwood speakers.

The two-spoke multifunction steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for battery voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. Just over 33k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer.
The fuel-injected 5.0-liter V8 was factory rated at 225 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and 2.73:1 Traction-Lok differential. An oil change was performed during current ownership.
Manufacturer’s literature is included in the sale along with a window sticker listing initial delivery to Ford of Highland Park, Illinois, colors and equipment, and a total price of $14,273.95.
