This 1989 Porsche 928 S4 is powered by a 5.0-liter DOHC V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transaxle and is finished in blue over Cashmere leather. Recent work included a resurfaced intake manifold and plenum as well as a replacement air mass meter, idle air valve, air injection pump, vacuum valve, air filter, fuel tank cover, valve covers, catalytic converters, sensors, spark plugs, gaskets, and steering and exhaust components.
The body is said to have been repainted in its current shade of blue under prior ownership and features pop-up headlights with washers along with integrated fog lights, body-color mirror caps, a sunroof, a rear spoiler, and a rear window wiper. A replacement lower front valance was fitted in 2020, and replacement door glass was installed in 2021.
Black-finished 19″ Lobster Fork wheels feature Porsche crest center caps and are wrapped in Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 tires. The car is equipped with vented disc brakes at each corner as well as front and rear stabilizer bars. Two upper A-arms were rebuilt in 2017, and work performed since 2019 has included a brake fluid change and a replacement front brake-wear harness, power steering pump, steering rack boots, and brake sensors.
The cabin features power-adjustable front seats upholstered in Cashmere leather as well as two rear bucket seats. The aftermarket CD stereo is linked to Kenwood speakers stationed behind the rear seats, and additional features include an alarm system and floor mats. The automatic climate control system was refreshed in 2020 with a replacement heater control valve, expansion block, and air conditioning compressor and drier.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 180-mph speedometer, a 7,600-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The ABS light is illuminated. The digital odometer indicates 107k miles.
The 5.0-liter DOHC V8 features LH-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 316 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. The X-pipe, catalytic converter, and muffler have reportedly been replaced, and work performed since 2019 has included cleaned injector ports, a resurfaced intake manifold and plenum, and the installation of a rebuilt air mass meter and a replacement idle air valve, air injection pump, vacuum valve, air filter, fuel tank cover, knock sensors, valve covers, spark plugs, hoses, gaskets, seals, and drive belts.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transaxle. Replacement transmission cooler lines were fitted in 2020, and the gearbox fluid was changed in 2021.
