This 1991 Honda Prelude Si 4WS comes from the final year of third-generation production and reportedly remained with its original owner in California for much of its life before being acquired by seller in February 2020. Finished in Frost White over gray cloth, the car is powered by a 2.1-liter DOHC inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes four-wheel steering, body-color wheels, a Sony cassette radio, an electric sunroof, a rear spoiler, and pop-up headlights. Work carried out since 2019 included replacement of the front crankshaft seal, camshaft seals, valve cover gasket, A/C fan assembly, alternator, battery, tires, and fluids.
The car is finished in Frost White (NH538) and features body-colored side moldings, a rear spoiler with an integrated third brake light, a glass sunroof with a wind deflector, clear rear turn signal lenses, and pop-up headlights. The front and rear bumpers were repainted during current ownership, and paintless dent removal was performed to repair door dings. The seller notes a paint drip below the driver’s mirror and states that 3M black vinyl trim tape has been applied to the lower rear 3/4 window moldings due to peeling.
Body-color 14” factory wheels are wrapped in Sailun Atrezzo tires that were mounted in December 2019. Braking is handled by discs at each corner, and the four-wheel-steering system is comprised of a shaft-driven planetary gearbox that manipulates the rear-wheel toe angle based on steering angle. The brake fluid was changed in December 2019, and the seller notes curb rash is visible on the wheels.
Gray cloth seats feature patterned centers, and Prelude-branded floor mats protect matching-color carpets. Amenities include power windows and locks, air conditioning, and a Sony cassette radio linked with a CD changer mounted in the trunk.
A stock three-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. The six-digit odometer shows over 72k miles.
The 2.1-liter DOHC inline-four is fuel injected and was rated at 140 horsepower and 135 lb-ft of torque for the 1991 model year. Work carried out in September 2020 included replacing the front crankshaft seal, camshaft seal, valve cover gasket, oil pump o-ring, oil pan gasket, and A/C fan assembly. A new alternator was installed in December 2019, at which time the coolant was changed along with the transmission, power steering, and clutch fluids. The timing belt was replaced approximately 10k miles ago in 2010 per the Carfax report.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The exhaust pipe was recently replaced.
