Power is supplied by a 6.2-liter diesel V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case, and modifications include aftermarket seats, 18” Black Rhino wheels with 37″ tires, LED exterior lights, a roll bar, a Cobra steering wheel, an aftermarket stereo with Bluetooth, Speedhut instrumentation, and a custom center console.
The M998 High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, or HMMWV, went into production for military use in 1984. This example was refinished from green camouflage to its current shade of Audi’s Quantum Grey and has also been fitted with a removable aluminum hardtop from Plan B Supply, along with a roll bar, LED exterior lights, a heavy-duty rear license plate bracket with lights, and replacement glass, doors, and exterior latches.
Black-finished 18” Black Rhino Abrams wheels are mounted with 37”x12.5” Kunati Mud Hog tires and a spare is located in the bed. The four-wheel independent suspension features coil springs and inboard disc brakes at each corner.
The interior houses aftermarket reclining seats that are trimmed in black upholstery along with gray carpeting and red seat belts. Dynamat sound deadening has been added to the firewall, floors, and rear bulkhead, and additional appointments include a custom center console with cupholders and trays, an overhead audio system with an amplifier and Bluetooth connectivity, and a Cobra steering wheel. The door weatherstripping has been replaced in addition to the wiper motor per the seller.
A Speedhut GLH-5KIT100 instrument cluster has been installed and consists of a 100-mph speedometer and gauges monitoring voltage, fuel level, water temperature, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows 142 miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 6.2-liter diesel V8 sends power to all four wheels through a three-speed Turbo 400 automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The starter, glow plugs, block heater, and belts are said to have been replaced by the seller.
