This 1995 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R is one of 250 examples produced for the model year, all of which were finished in Crystal White Clearcoat and powered by a 5.8-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a rear spoiler, 17″ wheels, a sport-tuned suspension with adjustable Koni shocks and progressive-rate springs, an aluminum radiator, an oil cooler, a Fuel Safe fuel cell with a high-capacity fuel pump, and Saddle cloth upholstery. Work in preparation for the sale included fluid changes and replacement of the rear brake rotors.
The car is finished in Crystal White Clearcoat (ZR) and features a rear spoiler, dual polished exhaust outlets, and a revised front valance and a raised hood cowl when compared with the standard Mustang.
Factory 17″ five-spoke wheels with Cobra R center caps wear 265/40 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport tires showing 2014 date codes. The car was equipped from the factory with power steering, anti-lock brakes, and an SVT-tuned suspension consisting of adjustable Koni dampers, progressive-rate springs, a front strut-tower brace, and strengthened stabilizer bars. Service in September 2021 included flushes of the brake fluid and power steering fluid, replacement of the rear brake rotors, and a front-end alignment.
The cabin features seats trimmed in Saddle cloth with matching carpets and Cobra-branded floor mats as well as black accents on the dashboard and door panels. Equipment includes four-way power adjustment for the driver’s seat, hand-crank windows, and power-adjustable side mirrors. The Cobra R was not equipped with rear seats, and additional weight-saving measures included the omission of air conditioning, an audio system, and sound insulation.
White-dial instruments include a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows just under 2k miles.
The 5.8-liter V8 was shared with the contemporary F-150 SVT Lightning but revised with higher-compression pistons, a more aggressive camshaft, and a larger throttle body in this application. Additional features include an aluminum radiator, an oil cooler, and a higher-capacity fuel pump. Factory-rated output was 300 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque when new. The coolant and engine oil were changed in September 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec 3550 five-speed manual transmission and a 3.27:1 Traction-Lok limited-slip differential that received a fluid change in preparation for the sale.
Factory literature is included the sale along with a Ford-SVT certificate that lists an assembly date of March 1, 1995 and identifies this car as #193 of the 250 Cobra R examples produced for the model year.
