This 1996 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra is finished in Laser Red over Saddle leather upholstery, and power is provided by a 4.6-liter DOHC V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Modifications include a 4.10 limited-slip differential, Steeda lowering springs and underdrive pulleys, an Eibach rear sway bar, a C&L air intake, a BBK 65mm throttle body, and a Flowmaster dual exhaust system. The car was first registered in New Jersey and spent time in New York and Maryland before being acquired in May 2021 by the seller. The seats were reupholstered and the tires replaced in 2020.
The car is finished in Laser Red with fog lights, a rear spoiler, hood and side vents, rocker panel accents, a Cobra-embossed rear bumper, and aftermarket window tint. A paint correction was performed and the car received a ceramic paint protective coating in July 2021.
Chrome-finished 17″ aftermarket alloy wheels are wrapped in Nitto NT05 tires that were mounted in 2020 and are sized 275/40 up front and 315/35 in back. The car is equipped with Cobra-script calipers and cross-drilled and slotted rotors, and the suspension has been modified with Steeda lowering springs, alignment plates, and subframe connectors, along with Maximum Motorsports adjustable rear lower control arms and solid steering gear bushings, BBK rear upper control arms, and an Eibach rear sway bar. The steering rack bushings were replaced in 2020.
The front seats were reportedly sourced from a 2003 Mustang Cobra and reupholstered in Saddle leather with embroidered Cobra logos on the backrests in December 2020. The factory rear seats were also re-trimmed to match, and amenities include air conditioning, an Alpine CD stereo, cruise control, aluminum pedal covers, power windows, and a MGW shift assembly. The passenger window switch was replaced in November 2020.
A leather-wrapped airbag steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer, while an AutoMeter water temperature gauge is housed on the steering column. The six-digit mechanical odometer indicates 26k miles.
The 4.6-liter DOHC V8 has been modified with a C&L air intake, a BBK 65mm throttle body, a Mishimoto aluminum radiator, an Edelbrock high-flow water pump, Steeda underdrive pulleys, a Bassani X-pipe, and a Flowmaster dual exhaust system. An oil change was performed in May 2021 and the hood struts were replaced in 2020.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission, a Ford Performance aluminum driveshaft, a Ford racing rear-end girdle, and a limited-slip differential. The rear end was rebuilt with 4.10:1 gears in 2008.
