This 1997 BMW M3 sedan is finished in red over black leather and powered by a 3.2-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Modifications are said to include a Dinan exhaust system, engine cover, front strut tower brace, short shifter, and Stage 2 engine management software as well as H&R sport springs, Bilstein sport shocks and struts, and a Stewart Components high performance water pump. It is also equipped with 17″ Style 39 wheels, aluminum pedal covers, a synthetic suede-wrapped steering wheel, aftermarket speakers, and a Pioneer amplifier. The car was first registered in California and later spent time in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut before being acquired by the seller’s brother in 2016. Subsequent maintenance has reportedly included fluid changes along with brake and suspension work.
The car is finished in Hellrot Red (314) and features aerodynamic bumper covers, side mirrors, and side sills. Additional equipment includes fog lights, clear front turn signal and side repeater lenses, black-finished kidney grilles, tinted windows, and twin polished Dinan exhaust outlets.
Staggered-width 17” Style 39 wheels wear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires measuring 225/45 up front and 245/40 out back. The suspension is said to have been overhauled in 2019 with H&R sport springs and Bilstein B8 sport shocks and struts. The tie rods, brake rotors, and brake pads were reportedly replaced at the same time, and an alignment was performed in April 2021.
The cabin features manually-adjustable front seats trimmed in black leather along with a matching dashboard, carpets, and door panels. Additional appointments include dual-zone automatic climate control, UUC Motorwerks aluminum pedal covers, a Dinan short shifter with a synthetic suede boot and a ZHP-specification shift knob, and a factory cassette stereo connected to aftermarket speakers and a trunk-mounted Pioneer amplifier. The headliner and left-rear door actuator were reportedly replaced under current ownership.
A replacement M-branded steering wheel trimmed in synthetic suede with tri-color stitching fronts a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline. The odometer shows 62k miles.
The 3.2-liter S52 inline-six is said to have been fitted with a Dinan exhaust system and Stage 2 engine management software, a K&N air filter, and a Stewart Components water pump and thermostat housing. A Dinan-branded carbon fiber rocker cover has also been installed into the engine bay along with a Dinan front strut tower brace. The thermostat housing O-ring and gasket were reportedly replaced in April 2021 when the coolant was also changed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission that received a fluid change in April 2021.
The car is supplied with factory books and manuals, service records for work completed under current ownership, and the removed stock steering wheel and shift knob.
