The car is powered by a 5.4-liter DOHC V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and is equipped with a limited-slip differential, Brembo front brakes, Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks, Recaro seats, a roll bar, a cowl hood, a front air dam, and a rear wing.
All 2000 Cobra R models were finished in Performance Red (ES) and feature a “power dome” hood, extended side skirts, a removable front splitter, and a rear wing. The front bumper cover is equipped with integrated brake cooling ducts, and the side-exit exhaust system includes dual polished tips ahead of each rear wheel.
Factory 18″ aluminum wheels are mounted with 265/40 Bridgestone Expedia S-01 tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs paired with Brembo four-piston front calipers. The Cobra R package specified an independent rear suspension system along with stiffer Eibach springs, larger anti-roll bars, and Bilstein Monotube dampers.
The cabin features manually-adjustable Recaro sport seats upholstered in Dark Charcoal fabric and fitted with Simpson racing harnesses. A roll bar and Nakamichi CD head unit have been added, and amenities include a B&M Ripper shifter with a leather shift knob, remote keyless entry, and power windows and door locks. To save weight, the Cobra R was not equipped with rear seats, an air-conditioning system, or cruise control from the factory.
A four-spoke steering wheel frames a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and a digital odometer showing 2,800 miles.
The 5.4-liter DOHC V8 was rated at 385 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque when new and features forged aluminum pistons, performance camshafts, an aluminum radiator, and a power steering cooler. An oil change was reportedly performed recently.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. An aluminum flywheel was fitted as standard equipment along with a side-exit dual exhaust system featuring a Bassani X-pipe and Borla mufflers.
