This 2001 Jaguar XKR coupe is one of 250 special edition Silverstone examples sent to the US for 2001 to commemorate the brand’s participation in Formula 1 racing. The car is finished in Platinum Silver over a black leather interior and is powered by a supercharged 4.0L V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Modifications include a Eurotek Designs supercharger drive pulley, aftermarket intercooler, Borla stainless steel exhaust, and an ECU tune. The car was acquired by the seller’s uncle in October of 2018. Recent service consisted of replacing the tires, changing the oil, and performing an alignment.
All 250 Silverstone Edition cars were finished in Platinum Silver with Silverstone badging, and equipment includes a vented hood, HID headlights, clear front side markers, fog lights, chrome trunk lid trim, and rear parking sensors.
Multi-piece 20″ BBS wheels are were recently wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires. Silverstone Edition cars were equipped with the Performance Handling Pack, which included revised anti-roll bars, higher spring rates, a 10mm lowered ride height, and revised speed-sensitive power steering. Braking is handled by vented 14″ front and 13″ rear brake rotors with red-finished Brembo four-piston aluminum calipers. An alignment was recently carried out.
The cabin is finished in black leather with deviated red stitching on the heated sport seats, center console, and steering wheel. Model-specific aluminum trim is present on the pedals and shift knob, and additional equipment includes air conditioning, a 320-watt Alpine Audiophile stereo system, Birdseye Maple wood trim, and Silverstone-branded floor mats.
Instrumentation includes a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer has 43k miles.
The supercharged 4.0L V8 is equipped with a Eurotek Designs supercharger pulley, ECU tune, Borla exhaust, and aftermarket intercooler. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Mercedes-Benz-sourced five-speed automatic transmission. An updated timing chain tensioner, chains, and fuel pumps were previously fitted, and an oil change was recently carried out.
