This 2002 Range Rover 4.6 HSE is one of 100 Borrego Edition examples built for the final model year of the P38A, all of which were finished in Borrego Yellow over black leather upholstery. Power is provided by a 4.6-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case, and additional equipment includes Electronic Air Suspension, a full-length roof rack, a brush bar with integrated driving lights, 18″ Comet wheels, power-adjustable heated front seats, a navigation system, and a Kenwood stereo.
All Borrego Edition models were finished in Borrego Yellow (757), and this example is equipped with a full-length Safety Devices steel roof rack, a power-operated sunroof, a front brush guard with Safari 5000 driving lights, fog lights, rear taillight guards, and a receiver hitch. The Carfax report lists damage to the roof and front end in August 2014, and the seller notes that the left-rear fender has been refinished.
Chrome-finished 18″ Comet wheels feature colored Land Rover center caps and are mounted with 285/60 Nitto Terra Grappler all-terrain tires. The truck is equipped with Electronic Air Suspension (EAS), the components of which are said to have been replaced during current ownership.
Seating surfaces are upholstered in black leather with contrasting yellow stitching along with matching door panel inserts and armrests. Burl wood trim accents the steering wheel, dashboard, center console, and doors, and the power-adjustable and heated front seats feature memory settings. Additional amenities include cruise control, a navigation system, and a Kenwood stereo linked to a Harman Kardon sound system and an aftermarket amplifier located in the cargo area. A black headliner has been installed, and the seller reports that the passenger-side blend door of the climate control system has failed.
The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel frames a 135-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges displaying fuel level and coolant temperature. Under 128k miles are indicated on the digital odometer.
The fuel-injected 4.6-liter Rover V8 features aluminum construction and was factory rated at 225 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Work performed under current ownership is said to have included machine work on the cylinder heads and replacement of the head gaskets and oil pan gasket. The seller states that the fuel purge valve and battery were replaced in September 2021.
Power is sent to all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The transfer case was reportedly resealed during current ownership.
Manufacturer’s literature and service records dating back to 2002 are included in the sale.
