This 2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra was bought new by its current owner from Villa Ford of Orange, California and is powered by a supercharged 4.6-liter DOHC V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in red over gray leather and features 17″ wheels, SVT-tuned suspension, a rear spoiler, a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, a Cobra SVT appearance kit, and a Mach stereo system with an in-dash six-disc CD changer. Modifications include a short-throw shifter and a cat-back exhaust system.
The Cobra was distinguished from the contemporary SN95 Mustang coupe by special front and rear valances, foldable body-color sideview mirrors, rocker moldings, rear spoiler, and badging. This example is reportedly one of 509 delivered in Redfire (G2), and is equipped with fog lights, hood vents, tinted windows, smooth chin spoiler, front brake ducts, and dual stainless-steel exhaust outlets.
Chrome 17″ five-spoke wheels are mounted with 275/40 Goodyear Eagle F1 tires showing 2004 date codes. The SVT suspension consists of linear-rate springs, gas-pressurized front struts and rear shocks, and an independent rear suspension. Stopping power comes from four-wheel disc brakes with Cobra-branded calipers up front.
The cockpit features Dark Charcoal leather seats with Graphite suede inserts and a Cobra emblem embroidered into the seatbacks. Amenities include a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, air conditioning, cruise control, aluminum pedals, remote keyless entry, power windows, power mirrors, power locks, and an AM/FM stereo with an in-dash six-disc CD changer.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames SVT instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, boost pressure, and oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 5k miles.
The supercharged 4.6-liter DOHC V8 produced 390 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque when new and features a cast-iron block, aluminum cylinder heads, an Eaton supercharger, and a plaque showing the builders’ signatures affixed to the valve cover.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car has been modified with a short-throw shifter and cat-back exhaust system. The removed parts are included in the sale.
The Ford Special Vehicle Team certificate indicates that this is #2,691 of the 3,768 limited-edition 2004 SVT Mustang Cobras assembled in 2004.
The window sticker shows factory options and additional equipment with a total MSRP of $36,065. Manufacturer’s literature, Ford Team Racing paperwork, a protective bra, and two keys with fobs are included in the sale.
