This Ford Mustang SVT Cobra is one of 495 convertibles produced for the 2004 model year that were equipped with the Mystichrome appearance package. Power comes from a supercharged 4.6-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes a limited-slip differential, independent rear suspension, 17″ chrome wheels, a black convertible top, and a unique Cobra appearance kit.
This “Terminator” Cobra is finished in Mystichrome paint containing ChromaFlair pigments that shift between bright topaz green, cobalt blue, royal purple, and deep onyx black. Equipment includes a Cobra-specific vented hood, a rear spoiler, front and rear valances, and side moldings as well as fog lights, power-adjustable side mirrors, dual stainless-steel exhaust outlets, and a power-retractable black convertible top that can be seen both raised and lowered.
Optional 17″ chrome wheels wear SVT center caps and are wrapped in Riken Raptor all-season tires that were mounted in 2019. A front-end alignment was also carried out in 2019. SVT-specific suspension components consist of linear-rate springs, gas-pressurized front struts and rear shocks, and an independent rear suspension.
The cabin features articulated sport seats upholstered in Dark Charcoal leather with Mystichrome inserts and Cobra emblems embroidered into the front seat backs. Amenities include power accessories, cruise control, air conditioning, and a factory stereo with an in-dash CD changer.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel also features Mystichrome accents and frames SVT-branded instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer along with gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, boost, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows 20k miles, though the Carfax report lists entries beginning in 2020 that show a mileage reading of 192k.
The 4.6-liter DOHC V8 is equipped with a Roots-type supercharger and was rated at 390 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque when new. A plaque showing the builder’s signatures is affixed to the valve cover, and a BBK cold-air intake has been fitted.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
