This 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon was purchased new by the seller in California and subsequently modified with a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 paired with a replacement Chrysler 545RFE five-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment include a two-speed transfer case and electronically locking front and rear differentials, as well as rock sliders, bucket seats with harnesses, lighting upgrades, 17″ American Racing ATX wheels, a Flowmaster exhaust system, lifted suspension, Poison Spyder front and rear bumpers, and more as detailed below. An oil service was performed in January 2021. This JK Wrangler is now offered with modification records, a Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The truck is finished in Flame Red and has been fitted with Poison Spyder front and rear bumpers with a Warn winch and air compressor up front, Smittybilt XRC rock sliders, Poison Spyder differential covers, and GenRight aluminum-tube fender flares treated with black Armacoat. Lighting upgrades include JW Speaker LED headlights and tail lights as well as a Rigid Off Road Pro-series floodlight bar, driving lights, reverse lights, and a pair of LED light cubes mounted to each A-pillar. The Carfax report lists damage oLurring to the rear in August 2010, with no further information provided.
Forged 17″ American Racing ATX wheels wear Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ 37×12.5″ tires, and a matching spare is mounted on a Poison Spyder swing-out carrier at the rear along with a Hi-Lift jack. The truck has been lifted using a 4.5″ long-arm kit from Rubicon Express, and additional suspension modifications include JKS Manufacturing coil spacers, FOA gas shocks, adjustable front and rear track bars, and quick-disconnect pins for the sway bars. A Synergy heavy duty drag link and tie rod kit has also been installed along with a steering stabilizer relocation bracket and a FOX steering stabilizer shock.
The cabin features MasterCraft Baja RS bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl with cloth inserts. Additional appointments include black rubber floor mats, four-point harnesses, a harness bar, air conditioning, electric windows, a Bully Dog monitor and tuner controller, and a factory infotainment display with navigation, UConnect, and satellite radio. A set of tubular doors with nets from Warrior Products is included in the sale.
The seller states that a replacement instrument cluster was sourced from another JK Wrangler and fitted during the conversion, and it now shows 98k miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 5.7-liter Hemi Dodge RAM V8 features variable valve timing and was reportedly installed by Jeep Speed Shop of Cotati, California. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a Chrysler 545RFE five-speed automatic transmission, a two-speed transfer case, and electronically locking front and rear differentials with 5.13:1 gearing. An oil service was performed in January 2021.
The exhaust has been modified with Flowmaster components, and Poison Spyder differential covers are fitted front and rear.
The Carfax report shows one owner and history in California from June 2008 through April 2021. Notations on the report include the aforementioned damage in August 2010 along with open manufacturer’s recalls related to the tow bar, airbag clockspring, and passenger airbag inflator.
