According to a detailed report by Fred Mauck in the Fall 1986 edition of the Packard International Motor Car Club Periodical (Volume 23, #3), this vehicle is believed to have been acquired directly from the Pasadena, California estate of General George S. Patton in 1939. This early West Coast history ties the car directly to the pre-WWII golden era of Southern California?s elite. The Earle C. Anthony ConnectionAdding to its localized California blue-chip pedigree, this example was reportedly serviced from new by Earle C. Anthony Packard. Operating out of landmark showrooms in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Earle C. Anthony was globally recognized as the world?s most prominent, successful, and influential Packard dealership. This lifelong association ensures the car was maintained to the highest standards during its operational life by the premier Packard experts of the era.Concours Pedigree & Exhibition HistoryIn addition to its historical significance, this Packard is reported to possess a storied history on the competitive exhibition circuit. It is reported to have previously been entered into the world-renowned Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the exclusive Imperial Palace Run, and the prestigious Packards International National Tour in 1985. Notably, it was formally judged by Packards International, where it achieved an impressive 222 out of 250 points, earning a coveted place in the elite "Circle of Champions."Current Condition & Mechanical StatusToday, the car presents as an older, fully restored example that has been lovingly preserved. Having spent some time on static display within a private collection, it has not been running recently and will require mechanical recommissioning before returning to the road. The body, brightwork, and interior present beautifully, reflecting the high caliber of its older restoration and its historic championship-winning past. It stands ready for its next caretaker to revive its smooth Senior power and return it to the concours lawn or the open road. Finally, please note that this car was recently acquired out of long time storage from a collector and it should still be considered being in need of recommissioning
