Description
This 1933 Pontiac Series 601 coupe reportedly spent 43 years with its previous owner, and it underwent a cosmetic refurbishment during that time that included a repaint in dark green by Sam Foose and retrimming the cabin in brown mohair upholstery. Power comes from a 223.4ci L-head straight-eight paired with a three-speed manual transmission with a freewheeling function, and equipment includes mechanical drum brakes, 17″ wire-spoke wheels, dual side-mount spares, a fold-down luggage rack, a push-button starter, a cigar lighter, and an under-dash heater. This Pontiac Economy Eight coupe was purchased by the current owner in 2023, and it is now offered on dealer consignment with a South Dakota title. The Pontiac lineup was restyled for 1933 and featured a chrome V-shaped grille, a four-piece louvered hood, vent windows, and valanced fenders. A total of 90,198 examples were produced across seven body styles for the model year. The Fisher-built body on this example was repainted in dark green under previous ownership, and details include a trumpet-style horn, a radiator mascot, running boards, an integrated luggage trunk, a Pontiac-branded fold-down luggage rack, and a single taillight.
