Description
This 1934 Chevrolet Phaeton Custom is powered by a supercharged 454ci GM big-block V-8 engine producing an estimated 850hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, backed by a TH400 automatic transmission with titanium racing gears and a 2,500-rpm stall converter. The engine features a 7.5:1 compression ratio, a Blower Shop 671 CNC-cut supercharger, GM 990 high-performance cast-iron cylinder heads with porting, a polished Edelbrock intake manifold and twin 700-cfm Holley carburetors. Internal components include a Callies 4340 crankshaft, Eagle 3D connecting rods, TRW forged pistons, a Comp solid roller camshaft, high-roller rocker arms, a stud girdle and Manley stainless-steel valves. Additional equipment includes an MSD distributor and ignition system, Jackson gear drive, Meziere chrome electric water pump, Moroso timing cover, Ansen valve covers and a chrome high-torque mini starter. Cooling is provided by a custom Griffin radiator with twin 11-inch Spal electric fans. The drivetrain includes a 3-inch Mark Williams aluminum racing driveshaft and a C4 Corvette independent rear end with 3.73 gears and new neoprene bushings. The custom boxed and tubular chassis features Heidts independent front suspension, QA1 adjustable coilover shocks and a C4 Corvette independent rear suspension with QA1 coilovers. Exhaust components include Sanderson headers, custom-built Doug's Headers electric side exhaust, Flo Pro mufflers and polished stainless-steel tubing. Chassis plumbing incorporates braided hoses, polished stainless-steel hard lines and custom polished brackets. Braking is handled by Wilwood disc brakes. The custom Old Chicago fiberglass body is finished in 2010 Camaro Jewel Red using Sikkens water-based paint. Exterior modifications include widened rear fenders, widened running boards, a reinforced rear deck and custom hood cutouts surrounding a chrome Moroso hood scoop. A removable Carson-style hardtop is upholstered in matching Mercedes-Benz red cloth. Additional exterior equipment includes Hankook tires and a 12-gallon fuel tank with a polished stainless-steel wrap. The interior features dual gray leather bench seats with matching door panels and kick panels. A color-matched dashboard houses AutoMeter Pro-Comp instrumentation, including a 160-mph speedometer, 10,000-rpm tachometer and gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, voltage and fuel level. Interior equipment includes power windows, remote keyless entry, a tilt steering column, Lokar floor shifter and Boss Marine Bluetooth/CD/USB audio system with an 800-watt amplifier. The cabin was rewired using a Painless Wiring system and insulated with Dynamat. The vehicle underwent a five-year reconstruction from 2010-15, with receipts, photographs, diagrams and build records documenting the process. It is accompanied by a clean Arizona title and reconstruction documentation. The digital odometer displays 3,462 miles since completion of the build.
