1935 Chevrolet 1/2-Ton Pickup

1935 EB Series 1/2-Ton Pickup, 206 I6, 3-Speed, All-Steel This 1935 Chevrolet EB Series ½-Ton Pickup is a charming pre-war classic that represents a key moment in early American automotive and commercial design. Powered by Chevrolet's reliable 206 cubic-inch inline six-cylinder engine paired with a 3-speed manual transmission, this truck combines the simplicity of 1930s engineering with distinctive styling that made Chevrolet's light-duty models the choice of tradesmen and small businesses across the country. Finished in a period-correct blue exterior with contrasting black fenders, this pickup wears its history well. The black bench seat interior and cream-painted wire wheels complete the look, while the single side-mounted spare and removable canopy bed cover give it both form and function. The optional canopy top, especially popular among produce vendors and grocers of the era, offered protection from the elements while allowing easy access for display and delivery—making it a true symbol of Depression-era American work ethic and ingenuity. The 1935 model year marked a significant design milestone for Chevrolet, introducing the innovative “Turret Top” body construction. This was the first year Chevrolet used Fisher Body's all-steel cab and roof system, which not only added strength and safety but also eliminated the need for the wooden roof supports used in earlier models. Only 6,192 half-ton examples were produced for that year, making this truck a relatively rare survivor among pre-war light-duty vehicles. With its charming lines, vintage presentation, and great stance, this Chevrolet offers a number of exciting possibilities—perfect for business promotion, as part of a pre-war collection, or simply as a weekend driver to local shows or farmer's markets. It shows well overall with minor flaws consistent with age and use, as seen in the photos. This 1935 Chevrolet EB Series Pickup remains a wonderful piece of American truck history, blending craftsmanship, durability, and a timeless look that continues to captivate enthusiasts nearly ninety years later.
