Description
This 1936 LaSalle Series 36-50 was built as a bare chassis on May 25, 1936, and it was delivered to the A.J. Miller Company of Bellefontaine, Ohio, for the installation of wooden huckster-style “flower truck” bodywork. It subsequently underwent a refurbishment before it was purchased by the current owner in February 1987 and placed into his collection. The steel body panels are finished in maroon, and power comes from a 248ci L-head straight-eight paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Features include 16″ body-color steel wheels, a side-mount spare, a radiator mascot, wooden running boards, roll-down rear cargo curtains, and a drop-down tailgate. Inside, the cab is trimmed in tan leather, and appointments include bright dashboard trim, a locking glovebox, and an under-dash heater. This LaSalle is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner at no reserve as part of the John C. Mesloh Collection with a copy of the factory build sheet and transferable New York registration. The 36-50 was offered in four Fisher-built body styles for 1936, and a total of 13,004 LaSalles were produced for the 1936 model year. The steel body panels on this example were finished in black from the factory, and they were repainted in maroon under previous ownership. Features include chrome bumpers with overriders, a hood ornament, a steel roof, wooden running boards, and dual taillights. The wooden huckster-style rear cargo bed is topped with a black roof panel, and details include roll-down curtains, a drop-down tailgate, and bright cargo bed floor strips.
