Description
This 1939 Plymouth P8 Deluxe is one of 387 convertible sedan examples produced for the model year. It was built on April 4, 1939, and was purchased by the current owner in April 1970. After spending a period in storage, it underwent a refurbishment that was completed in the 2000s before earning an Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Grand National First Prize Award in 2004. The car is finished in dark blue over red leather upholstery, and power comes from a 201ci inline-six paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes square sealed-beam headlights, a hood ornament, a split windscreen, glass wind wings, a tan soft top, detachable B-pillars, an under-dash heater, and a rear robe cord. This P8 Deluxe convertible sedan is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a copy of the build card, factory literature, and a Pennsylvania title in the owner’s name. The Briggs-built body was repainted dark blue during the refurbishment. Equipment includes chrome bumpers with red-accented overriders, square sealed-beam headlights, a hood ornament, a split windscreen, glass wind wings, a tan soft top, detachable B-pillars, running boards, Plymouth-branded taillights, and a bustle-back trunk.
