1941 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Sedan

Description 1941 CADILLAC SERIES 62 CONVERTIBLE SEDAN #B348869. (Stock #4468.) 1941 was an unusual year for the top-of-the-line Cadillac–it was the last year of any 4-door convertible for Cadillac and 1941 was the year of many instantly recognizable body changes for Cadillac itself. Only 400 examples of the incredibly elegant Series 62 4-door convertibles were built and, of course, are full Classic car Club of America (CCCA) Certified cars. Of the 400, few were built with the highly desirable manual transmission, and this one is fitted with a high-speed rear end which enables it to drive at highway speeds in comfort. Ours was owned for more than a decade by the internationally known Cadillac collector, John Milliken. There is a copy of a letter from Mr. Milliken to the fellow from whom he purchased the car, reporting on his hours long drive home in California. “The car is most comfortable on the freeway at 65 mph. It ran great, steered straight, the heater works great. It started raining in Santa Barbara and kept raining all the way Sunday night until I got home. I averaged a bit over 14mpg and used no oil or water. The car made me very happy on this trip and now I know that I can trust the car on long distances." These comments, from an enthusiast who knows Cadillacs inside and out and who enjoyed this car for more than a decade, is very telling. For someone who wants a beautiful, most elegant car for shows, CCCA tours or just driving enjoyment, this is a perfect candidate. Finished in gleaming black with beautiful correct red leather, and black cloth convertible top and boot. The car is magnificent throughout/ drives exceptionally well and is ready to tour anywhere. The car has just had 5 new Diamondback radial tires installed; the generator, fuel pump and carburetor have all been all rebuilt--as well as an auxiliary electric fuel pump and four seat belts installed--in anticipation of the car's next tour. Tours may be driven in this car, with 2 or 4 people, at comfortable cruising speeds of 70-75 miles per hour, due to the high-speed rear end with which the car is fitted. This is, in fact, a perfect touring/show car. $78,000.
