1947 Crosley CC Base

This Crosley has been restored to its original condition. Only NOS or faithful reproductions were used for repairs. Two notable exceptions are the cast-iron engine block and the stainless-steel gas tank.

This car has a replacement cast iron engine block. This block is smoother than the original brazed engine block. As a welding engineer, I acquired several of the Cobra engine blocks and other parts out of curiosity. They can be purchased separately if interested.

The undercarriage is painted black, except for the gas tank, which is unpainted, and the oil pan, which is painted green. There is moderate rust on the leaf springs. If there is any other rust on the car, it is hidden from plain view. The convertible top shows some discoloration due to age and sun exposure, but has no rips or tears.
