Vehicle Description 1948 Chevrolet 3600 $20,500 Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present a true post-war American classic, the 1948 Chevrolet 3600, a truck that blends rugged utility with undeniable character. Finished in a patina exterior, this 3600 wears its history with pride. The exterior tells the story of decades past, giving it that authentic vintage look enthusiasts love. Inside, the brown and gray interior keeps things period-correct and inviting, offering a warm, no-frills cabin that takes you straight back to the late 1940s, an era when trucks were built tough, simple, and ready to work. Under the hood is an inline 6 engine, known for its smooth operation and strong low-end torque. Paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, this truck delivers an engaging, hands-on driving experience that modern vehicles just can't match. Whether you're rowing through the gears or cruising at a steady pace, it's all about enjoying the ride. A Luxerad aluminum radiator has been added to help keep the engine cool, making it more than just a showpiece. The 3600 model was part of Chevrolet's Advance-Design series (1947–1955), which marked a major evolution in truck design. These trucks featured wider, more comfortable cabs, improved visibility, and a more modern, integrated look compared to pre-war models. The 3600 specifically was a ¾-ton truck, built to handle heavier loads while still maintaining everyday drivability, making it a true workhorse of its time. Out back, the wood grain bed adds a touch of craftsmanship and authenticity, perfectly complementing the truck's vintage vibe. And for a unique twist, a whiskey barrel has been securely mounted in the bed, an eye-catching detail that makes this truck a guaranteed conversation starter at any show or cruise-in. Sitting on smoothie wheels, the overall look is clean, classic, and effortlessly cool. Driving this 1948 Chevrolet 3600 is more than just getting from point A to point B; it's about slowing down and enjoying the journey. The sound of the inline 6, the feel of the clutch, and the connection to the road create an experience that modern trucks simply can't replicate. This isn't just a vehicle, it's a rolling piece of American history, ready for its next chapter. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call at 830-283-3060 or email [email protected].
