1948 Dodge Power Wagon 4x4

Vehicle Description 1948 Dodge Power Wagon $59,995 "It's not only one exceedingly cool vintage ride, but it's also a bona fide piece of American history! This 1948 Dodge Power Wagon 4x4 was among the class of rugged, hard-working vehicles entrusted to get American businesses back up and running in the aftermath of WWII, equipped to handle all sorts of terrain as it accomplished that mission. Rolling on a set of 16"" factory wheels wrapped with massive military-style tires, this timeless Dodge cuts a figure like few other vehicles on the road. Its patina brown exterior shows subtle signs of its considerable years of toil, but that toil seems to have only made it stronger, both structurally and mechanically. Yes, this is one very rare truck. The interior has seen some skilled craftsmanship that has not only expanded its dimensions to accommodate taller drivers but has left it looking surprisingly fresh. The color-matched dash area shows no concerning blemishes and harbors a group of factory-style gauges that still sit behind clear lenses in the instrument cluster, joined by a pair of aftermarket counterparts just below. A lengthy lever puts the floor shifter within easy reach, and just beside it, the apparatus to unleash this Dodge's four-wheel drive surefootedness stands by, and the feature works just as intended. With its long bed configuration, there's plenty of room in back, should you ever feel the need to put this classic to work. This rarely seen workhorse is powered by a period-correct 230-cubic-inch inline six-cylinder engine that has come through the years in fine fashion, to say the least. Fed by a one-barrel carburetor, it fires up unusually quickly for a vehicle from its era, even in colder weather and teams with a 4-speed manual transmission that shifts through its gears with no glitches. You may encounter a post-War truck on the road from time to time, but chances are that it doesn't possess a running condition on a par with this one. More than three quarters of a century after it rolled off the assembly line, it still tracks straight, with no wandering, and its factory-correct drum brakes bring it to a stop with no fanfare. A look below reveals no concerning rust that might threaten this venerable pickup's structural integrity, so it's ready to roll for years to come.
