Description
This 1948 MG TC is said to have remained with its original owner in California until 2011, and later that year the seller acquired the vehicle from the Black Hawk Collection in Danville, California. The seller subsequently began a body-off refurbishment that was completed in 2026. The 1,250cc inline-four has been rebuilt and fitted with a Crane camshaft, a T9 five-speed manual transmission has been installed, and 5.375:1 rear-end gearing has been adapted along with a TRW steering box, a dual-master-cylinder braking system, Alfin brake drums, an alternator, LED lighting, turn signals, and seatbelts. The car was repainted in red over a refreshed red leather interior, and the tan soft top is complemented by matching side curtains and a tonneau cover. Other features include a wood dashboard, 19″ knock-off wire wheels, dual SU carburetors, a high-volume water pump, a finned oil pan, an Optima battery, a coated exhaust manifold, and a Falcon stainless-steel exhaust system. This modified TC is now offered at no reserve with refurbishment records and photos, spare parts, a hub wrench, and a Virginia title in the seller’s name. The image above was captured during the refurbishment process. The replacement floorboards were made from Okoume marine plywood and coated with two coats of clear epoxy. The f rame was vapor-blasted and repainted with two coats of epoxy primer and two coats of chassis black.
