Description
This 1948 Pontiac Deluxe Torpedo Six sedan is said to have spent time with two owners in Minnesota before it was purchased by the selling dealer in 2024. The car is finished in black over gray cloth upholstery, and power comes from a 239.2ci inline-six mated to a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Equipment includes a rear window wiper, an adjustable steel sun visor, an illuminated hood ornament, and amber-lens driving lamps. Inside, the cabin is accented with painted woodgrain trim, and amenities include push-button AM radio, an electric clock, a heater and defroster, and a rear robe bar. This Series 25 Deluxe Torpedo is now offered with literature, service records, and a South Dakota title. The Harley Earl-designed Torpedo was updated for 1948 with a horizontal-bar grille and triple-blade “Silver Streak” hood and trunk lid trim. A total of 25,235 Torpedo Sixes equipped with the new-for-1948 Hydra-Matic automatic transmission were built across six body styles for the model year. This example is finished in black and features fender skirts, an adjustable steel sun visor, Silver Streak fender badges, an illuminated hood ornament, and amber-lens driving lamps. The rear window wiper does not work.
