Description
This custom 1949 Chevrolet 3100 pickup is powered by a 350ci V-8 engine equipped with an Edelbrock carburetor, mated to a TH350 automatic transmission with a column shifter and transmission cooler. The drivetrain includes a custom driveshaft and 10-bolt rear end with inward-moved leaf springs. It has a GM front subframe, a 3-inch rear frame notch, new shocks, power steering, a custom-built heavy-duty radiator, new battery and cables, firewall-mounted battery tray and GM fuse box. The exhaust uses new Smitty glasspack mufflers. Stopping is handled by power disc brakes. The exterior is finished in Electric Blue basecoat/clearcoat paint and features a chopped top, custom hood, frenched-in headlamps, new chrome bumpers, new chrome grille, new handles and custom taillamps. The bed was shortened 3 inches and fitted with new wood and polished strips, while the fuel tank is mounted under the bed and the rear bumper was moved inward. Chrome 15-inch wheels are fitted with new radial wide whitewall tires and spider caps. The interior features new custom tuck-and-roll white vinyl upholstery with silver flake, new seat upholstery, door panels, kick panels, Dynamat, carpet and heavy-duty padding. Additional interior equipment includes polished original dash trim and glove-box trim, a new glove box, new interior handles, a 1960s GM steering wheel, tilt steering and a new mirror. A new steering column, finned valve covers, finned air cleaner and blue dots are included in boxes. Some glass has been replaced.
