1950 Ford Crestliner

1950 Ford Custom Resto Mod Convertible 383 - 350 Auto - AC Leather Show Quality This 1950 Ford Crestliner is an absolutely stunning custom resto-mod convertible, the result of an extraordinary 2,700-hour build by Kings Restoration in Roanoke, Virginia, completed to concourse show standards. No expense was spared, and no detail was overlooked in bringing this iconic classic to life with a perfect blend of nostalgic styling and modern engineering. From its custom chassis to its handcrafted interior, this Crestliner stands as a true showpiece and a driver's dream. Underneath, the foundation has been completely upgraded with a Fat Man front stub chassis, featuring 11” Master Power disc brakes in the front and rear drums for confident stopping power. Posies springs paired with lowering blocks bring up the rear, delivering the ideal stance without compromising ride quality. A 9” Currie rear end with 3.25 gearing ensures durability and performance, while power rack-and-pinion steering provides smooth, modern handling that's worlds ahead of anything available in 1950. Powering this stunning convertible is a robust 383 stroker V8, breathing through triple Rochester 2G carburetors for a potent blend of classic style and muscle car performance. A Turbo 350 transmission with a shift kit sends power to the rear wheels, ensuring crisp, responsive shifts that make this car as thrilling to drive as it is to admire. Keeping the powerhouse cool is a BeCool aluminum radiator equipped with both electric and engine-mounted fans, guaranteeing reliable cooling even on the hottest show days or summer cruises. The exterior is finished in a dazzling 2002 Corvette Galaxy Silver, expertly laid down with three coats of base and four coats of clear, resulting in a deep, glassy finish that turns heads from every angle. Authentic Crestline trim was added during the restoration to maintain the correct period look, and fender skirts complete the sleek, flowing profile. The car rides on classic wide whitewall tires, complementing its era-perfect presentation while hinting at the custom craftsmanship underneath. Inside, the cabin is nothing short of art. The leather interior and trunk, both done with elegant French stitching, exude luxury and attention to detail. A Stayfast material Mercedes convertible top adds a modern, durable touch while retaining the vintage look. The dash is clean and purposeful, hiding the Vintage Air system's A/C and heating controls under the speaker cover for a seamless aesthetic. An Ididit tilt steering column pairs with a custom four-spoke steering wheel, recast to 16 inches to maintain the original visual proportions while improving comfort. A small nostalgic Moon tachometer is cleverly mounted to the lower edge of the steering column, providing a perfect blend of form and function. Technology and sound are not forgotten, with Dakota Digital gauges keeping track of the vitals and a discreetly installed stereo system featuring four speakers, a woofer, and a CD player, allowing for modern entertainment without disrupting the car's period-correct look. Underneath it all, a stainless steel 18-gallon fuel tank and Ron Francis wiring ensure reliability and safety on every journey. Included with the car is a ledger documenting the time, money, and parts invested, along with a detailed photo album chronicling the restoration process—an incredible record of the passion and precision poured into every inch of this car. This 1950 Ford Crestliner convertible is not just another custom—it is a labor of love, a show-winning resto-mod that offers the best of both worlds: breathtaking classic looks and modern drivability. Whether you're seeking a statement piece for a private collection, a trophy magnet for national shows, or simply the ultimate cruising machine, this Crestliner delivers on every front.
