Description
This 1951 Morgan Plus 4 two-passenger roadster was acquired by the late owner in 1979. Following a refurbishment in the early 1990s that included the installation of a 2,088cc Triumph inline-four and a Toyota five-speed manual transmission, the car participated in a number of Vintage Sports Car Club of America races as well as classic car events, most recently attending the Ozark Passage rally in 2025. Repainted in red over a re-trimmed black interior, the car features 15″ wire wheels, dual spare wheels, headlight stone guards, and a center driving light. A one-piece windscreen sits ahead of the cockpit, which is outfitted with a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an intercom system, a roll bar, and Simpson lap belts. This Plus 4 is now offered by the seller on behalf of an estate with a VSCCA logbook, vehicle literature, service records, spare parts, a cargo trailer with a bill of sale, and a Washington State title for the car in the late owner’s name. The car competed in a number of Vintage Sports Car Club of America races in the 1990s, including at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut and Mount Equinox in Vermont. In 2006, it was shipped to New Zealand to attend a Morgan event there. It also participated in events as recently as 2025, such as the New England 1000, the Texas 1000, the Mountain Mille, and the Northwest and Southwest Passages.
