Description
This 1953 Arnolt-MG Bertone convertible is powered by a 1250cc MG inline-four engine equipped with dual SU carburetors, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Built on MG TD mechanicals, it features handcrafted Italian coachwork by Carrozzeria Bertone and retains its original Terrani knock-off wire wheels. One of 36 convertibles produced from a total of 103 Arnolt-MGs, this example is identified as Arnolt car No. 259, with MG chassis number 26111 and Bertone body number 4414. Its original Arnolt identification plate lists engine number 26444 and factory specifications of ICI Sun Beige paint with brown Connolly upholstery. Following an older restoration, the car is currently finished in dark blue with chrome bumpers and trim, a Bertone grille, sweeping fender lines and a tan convertible top with matching boot. The tan interior features contrasting piping, a wood-rimmed MG steering wheel, Smiths instrumentation and an aftermarket AM/FM stereo. Accompanying documentation includes historical registration records, restoration and maintenance receipts dating to the 1990s, factory identification information and supporting paperwork.
