Description
This 1953 Ford F-100 custom pickup is powered by a 5.7-liter LS2 V-8 engine with an LS6 intake manifold controlled by a BigStuff3 ECU, fuel injection and a K&N air filter. The engine is paired with a 4L80E automatic transmission and a Ford 9-inch rear axle with 3.50 gears. Additional features include ceramic-coated headers, Flowmaster 50 Series mufflers, a Meziere electric water pump that retains the stock LS belt routing, a Ron Davis custom radiator with dual electric fans and Meziere fabrication parts, overflow tank, radiator cap, flexplate and starter. The boxed and C-notched frame features a Camaro front clip, custom crossmembers, a four-bar rear suspension, QA1 coilover shocks at all four corners and a relocated rear fuel tank. Power steering is connected to a Camaro steering box. Four-wheel power-assist disc brakes include 11-inch GM front discs and 12-inch Wilwood rear discs. The truck rides on Billet Specialties wheels (16x8 front and 17x11 rear) with Falken Ziex tires (225/60R16 front and 285/60R17 rear). The all-steel body features shaved drip rails, deleted bumpers and vent windows, one-piece side glass, Mid Fifty F-100 Parts roll pans, electric door actuators, power windows, hidden tailgate latches, flush-mounted taillights, a flush-mounted third brake light, a front-tilt hood with a No Limit Engineering hood tilt kit, custom inner fenders, rear bed tubs and an SEM Mercedes Brilliant Silver finish. The bed is fitted with a white oak wood floor with stainless-steel trim strips and concealed fuel tank access. The interior features a black vinyl bench seat, matching door panels, kick panels, headliner, carpet and visors by Armando's Custom Upholstery, a Dakota Digital instrument cluster, a Billet Specialties steering wheel, a Super Rides by Jordan lower dash, a custom center stack, a Vintage Air climate-control system and a Custom Autosound stereo. Electrical components, wiring and the BigStuff3 ECU are mounted on a removable panel behind the seat. The electrical system includes a master shutoff switch and a battery tender port beneath the right rear corner of the bed. A frame-up restoration was completed in 2012. This truck has remained in the family for more than three decades. It was featured in the December 2014 issue of Classic Trucks magazine and received Flowmaster American Thunder Award at the Goodguys Del Mar Nationals.
