1953 Mercury Monterey 2-Door Hardtop was purchased 2012, which had a restoration completed sometime around 1998 to 2000. It was in storage 10 years before I found it and it became mine. A beautiful blend of originality and drivability, this 1953 Monterey has been lovingly preserved and enhanced for modern without compromising its vintage charm. From the factory-correct green flathead v8 to the Vintage Air system and 12v conversion. Mileage 107,060 Engine and Mechanical Original 255 cu in Mercury EAC code Flathead v8, 125HP Engine overhauled completed February 2013 by Ball Engine Service (Lilburn, Ga) including New pistons, rings, bearings, block and heads surfaced. Full engine balancing. Electronic ignition upgrade with new noses, belts and water pumps. 3 on the tree manual transmission with overdrive. New starter installed March 2021, which looks like original. New fuel tank and sending unit. Coker 710-15 Firestone Vintage Bias Tires with 3 1/4” whitewalls, full tread depth, like new. Drive train & Differential rebuilt with new bearings and seals. New clutch installed, new leaf springs and shocks. Complete brake system overhaul, including brake shoes, hardware and hydraulics.
