Description
This 1954 Nash Rambler is one of 7,640 Custom sedans produced for the model year. It was built at Nash’s El Segundo, California, plant, and is said to have been owned by a Walla Walla, Washington-area AMC dealer for decades before it was purchased by the seller in 2016. The car is finished in blue with a contrasting roof over patterned cloth upholstery with black and white vinyl accents. Power comes from a 184ci inline-six mated to a three-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, and equipment includes a Continental kit, a “Flying Goddess” hood ornament, front and rear door vent windows, and Farina C-pillar badges. The seller notes white smoke from the exhaust, and tells us that the engine was down on coolant after their last drive. This Nash Rambler project is now offered at no reserve with literature and a Washington title in the seller’s name. The Rambler was restyled by Pinin Farina for the 1953 model year and featured “Airflyte” unibody construction. The four-door sedan body style was new for 1954, and this example is finished in blue with a contrasting light blue top. Features include wraparound chrome bumpers with overriders, a single-bar grille, a faux hood scoop, a “Flying Goddess” hood ornament, front and rear door vent windows, and Farina C-pillar badges. The windshield is chipped, the left rocker panel is dented, the left-side door windows are cracked, and areas of paint loss and other imperfections in the finish can be seen in the gallery.
