Description
This custom 1955 Chevrolet 210 is powered by an aluminum LS3 crate V-8 engine paired with a 4L65E four-speed automatic transmission as part of a Chevrolet Connect & Cruise package. The engine produced 444.29hp at the rear wheels on a dyno. The engine compartment features a custom-built smoothed firewall, custom-built cowl, aluminum radiator with dual fans, air-conditioning condenser, serpentine belt system and billet aluminum hood hinges. It rides on a custom-designed, hand-built Nerd Rods Tri-Five chassis with a Corvette engine cradle, Corvette upper and lower control arms, and C4 Corvette Dana 44 independent rear suspension. Stopping is handled by power Corvette disc brakes with large Corvette calipers and rotors at all four corners, a Wilwood brake booster and master cylinder, and stainless-steel brake lines. The exterior is finished in House of Kolor Brandywine and Durango Gray with painted stainless-steel inserts and dividers. The stainless-steel trim and chrome are refurbished original or new components that have been modified to fit the build. Additional features include new bumpers and bumper guards, new floor and trunk pans, and new smoke-tinted glass. It rides on custom-made Schott Grid EXL Cover Lock 18x8 front and 20x10 rear wheels. The custom interior features bucket seats upholstered in 1957 Chevrolet "cloud cloth" and leather, Mercedes wool carpeting with matching floor mats, a TMI one-piece leather headliner and Dakota Digital VHX-55C instruments. Equipment includes Vintage Air climate control, a Flaming River tilt steering column, power steering, cruise control, a leather-wrapped original 1955 steering wheel, a hand-built center console with billet cup holders and polished stainless-steel trim. The audio system includes a Kenwood touchscreen with Bluetooth, Sirius radio antenna, JL Audio 10-inch subwoofer and amplifier, Memphis 6x9-inch rear speakers and 5-inch kick-panel speakers. The trunk continues the interior treatment with custom leather panels, cloud upholstery and wool carpeting, along with a compartment housing the battery, subwoofer and amplifier. Built by Auto Restoration and Customs in Gainesville, Texas, with a Nerd Rods chassis from Luling, Texas, the project was completed over five years at a stated cost exceeding $380,000. Build books with photographs and a spreadsheet of expenses are included in the sale.
