1956 Chevrolet 3100

Vehicle Description 1956 Chevrolet 3100 "The Chevrolet ""Task Force"" trucks introduced for 1955 represented a dramatic leap forward in both styling and engineering, ushering in one of the most celebrated generations of American pickup trucks. Featuring the industry's first wraparound windshield on a pickup, a more modern cab design, improved ride quality, and bolder styling, the Task Force series helped transform the pickup from a purely utilitarian workhorse into a vehicle equally at home on the open road. Today, these second-year 1956 models are among the most sought-after foundations for custom builds, blending timeless mid-century design with the comfort, reliability, and performance expected of a modern driver. Finished in an exceptionally deep gloss black exterior complemented by a striking lipstick red custom upholstered interior, this 1956 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup has been professionally transformed into an outstanding street rod that beautifully combines classic styling with contemporary engineering. Having traveled just 1,518 miles since completion, this exceptional custom has been reserved primarily for local car shows and classic vehicle gatherings, presenting today in outstanding condition and ready to be enjoyed by its next caretaker. Power comes from a professionally rebuilt Chevrolet 327 cubic-inch V8 fitted with an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake manifold and Edelbrock 1406 four-barrel carburetor featuring an electric choke. This mates to a Turbo-Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission. Performance enhancements continue with block-hugging tube headers feeding a throaty side-exit exhaust system, dependable HEI electronic ignition, and a Champion Cooling three-row aluminum radiator paired with an electric cooling fan to ensure confident performance in any driving conditions. The result is the unmistakable sound, responsiveness, and reliability enthusiasts expect from Chevrolet's legendary small-block V8. The chassis has been thoughtfully upgraded to provide modern road manners without sacrificing the truck's iconic character. Power rack-and-pinion steering delivers precise handling, while power-assisted front disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors inspire confidence behind the wheel. Tubular front control arms improve suspension geometry, complemented by a TCI (Total Cost Involved) rear leaf spring system that enhances both ride quality and handling. The fuel tank has been discreetly relocated beneath the bed for improved safety and a cleaner appearance, while handsome oak bed planks accented by polished stainless-steel strips provide a beautiful finishing touch. A custom-built battery storage box with side out utility drawer further demonstrates the attention devoted to both function and presentation. Completing the exterior are handsome 17-inch Ridler 695 five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in 225/50R17 front and 255/60R17 rear performance radial tires for an aggressive, well-balanced stance. Inside, the cabin has been completely reimagined with comfort and convenience in mind. Supportive custom power-adjustable bucket seats are separated by a floating center console incorporating practical cup holders. Vintage Air Slimline climate control provides year-round comfort, while power windows, a tilt steering column, and Dakota Digital cruise control make extended drives effortless. An Intellitronix digital instrument cluster delivers modern precision while maintaining a clean appearance, and entertainment comes courtesy of a Sony audio/video head unit with Bluetooth connectivity and an integrated rearview camera. Tinted glass, dual exterior mirrors, both carpeted and all-weather floor mats, and a lightweight rear bed cover complete this thoughtfully appointed interior. This beautifully executed 1956 Chevrolet 3100 offers the best of both worlds, the unmistakable styling of Chevrolet's iconic Task Force pickup paired with the performance, comfort, and drivability of a contemporary custom street rod.
