For 1954, a major restyling included fashionable wraparound windshield and rear-window treatments, followed by the debut of the Holiday 2- and 4-door pillarless hardtop models in 1955. The rapidly developing "Rocket" V-8 engine now displaced 324 cubic inches and delivered 240 horsepower for the Super 88 and top-shelf Series 98 models, with GM's excellent Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic transmission standard by 1956. Representing Oldsmobile's top-of-the-line models for 1956, this 98 Deluxe Holiday Sedan features a 240-horsepower, 324 cubic-inch V-8 engine, paired with the new-for-1956 Jetaway Hydra-Matic 4-speed automatic transmission. Purchased by the current owner, a highly knowledgeable collector, this 1956 Oldsmobile Series 98 Deluxe Holiday Sedan is a very well-restored and preserved example of Oldsmobile's upscale performers of the mid-1950s, featuring the handsome and modernistic Holiday Hardtop sedan body style. Befitting its high-end status, this 1956 Oldsmobile Super 98 Holiday Hardtop features an eye-catching two-tone paint finish and a two-tone interior with leather upholstery. Features, options, and passenger amenities include working factory air conditioning and power-assisted brakes and steering, power windows, and a power-adjustable front seat.
